RWebs.Net Help for StoreFront 5.0
StoreFront™ is e-commerce software produced by LaGarde, Inc., and StoreFront 5.0 was the last version based on Microsoft's Active Server Pages (ASP) technology. StoreFront 5.0 is no longer sold or supported by LaGarde but you may continue to get support from some of the developers listed in my links pages. The current version is StoreFront 6.0, which is based on the newer Microsoft ASP.Net technology. I don't currently work with or support StoreFront 6.0 and have left these pages for the use of those still using StoreFront 5.0.
The following information is intended to supplement the StoreFront 5.0 (SF5) help files and user manual and is not an official publication of LaGarde, Inc., but I hope you will find these notes helpful in configuring and using SF5.
Note: This information is not intended to apply to the previous version of StoreFront 2000, Version 4 (SF4). For notes on that version, please check here.
My knowledge of SF5 has come from helping to beta-test the SF5 software and working with earlier versions of StoreFront, starting with SF98. In addition, I have configured a number of StoreFront sites over the years and actively participate in the official StoreFront support newsgroup. I am an independent consultant and programmer.

If I had one piece of advice for anyone about to build a web store with SF5, it would be to choose a web host who is a StoreFront Partner and really knows how to setup and configure SF5 on their servers. This can save you a lot of frustration getting started with SF5. A good place to get host referrals, too, is the SF support newsgroup. |
