8004005 Errors

If you get errors with the error number 8004005 when you try and run your SF2K site, you should check some of the following tips to solve the problem.

Often this is a permissions problem on the web server. Often, your SF2K web was working fine on your Windows 9x local PC using PWS but when you publish your web to your web host these errors will show up. Basically, this is due to your web host's server running NT or Windows 2000 Server, which has an increased level of security and protection for files and folders.

You can also run into these errors on a local develpment PC if you are running Windows 2000 Professional and formatted your drive with the default NT File System (NTFS) instead of the older File Allocation Table (FAT or FAT32) system. In that case, you may need to configure your IIS using some of the tips for correcting these errors on live web hosts.

Be sure to check the StoreFront Knowledge Base for further help on correcting these errors.
